Shine on.

The Music Video for Waking Up in Vegas by Katy Perry.

In light of my trip to Las Vegas next week, I figured I'd make a themed blog about all things glittery and glamorous.

SEEING RED

Why not start with a bandage red dress?

You don't even want to know the price of this dress. But it's hot and very Vegas.

Details here:

HEAD OVER HEELS

Jimmy Choo for H&M.

Another pricey item. But sure bang for the buck. Maybe if you win jackpot on some slots?

THERE'S NO SCENTS IN SPARKLE

Sparklicity Shimmer Dust

The title is correct. This bottle of Tarina Tarantino's Sparkilicity Shimmer Dust spits out sparkle for the body and hair rather than scents. It was made for Vegas.

LIPS ARE SEALED

With hot red lips, of course. Those Jessica Alba advertisements have been working. $7. Most drug stores.

SMOKIN' HOT

Love & beauty, Forever 21's new beauty brand, has made a Starlet Smoky Eye Kit for the ultimate sultry eye. It comes with a volumizing black mascara, black eye liner, smoky eye trio palette, and eye liner sharper. All for the price of, wait for it... $6.

Go to your local Forever 21 or XXI Forever to find other great beauty products for cheap!

Find make-up, nail polish and other items now available.
It's very cool, guys.

In fact, when I finally got to XXI Forever after buying the black and white flannel from Levi's (as mentioned in my previous blog post), I bought their Midnight Smoke eyeshadow set for $4.

And let me tell you... it works like a charm! Now I'm not saying that department store brands or drug store brands do not level up... I know for a fact I sure won't stop my trips to Sephora or stop dazzling over gloriously classic brands in department stores, but you can't beat the variety or the price tag on these beauty buys.

Take for instance the Glamour Glow Face Kit:

It's complete with two shadows, two lip glosses and a golden bronzer. For what price? $6. It doesn't get any better than this! And it's only the size of a credit card.

Just sayin'.

Well that's all!
Hope you enjoyed this!

Walk, walk, fashion, baby.

The Music Video for Extraball (ft. Amanda Blank) by Yuksek.

First of all, I would like to apologize for not blogging last weekend. I had a very busy schedule. But now that it's Spring Break, expect more blogs from me! In addition to making up for last weekend's blunder, I will also post another blog after this, and then we will be back on track! Now for my latest fashion finds...

EXTRA, EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT IT
(black and white print, if you didn't catch that cleverly veiled joke)

Levi's Camper Shirt - Exploaded Black/White Plaid

I recently picked up an item from Levi's. According to Levi's website, it's a Camper Shirt in Exploaded Black/White Plaid. Well alright then.

I'm not an avid Levi's shopper and the only pair I have is from Costco's, so the fact that the mall that I usually shop from has a barely noticeable Levi's store. The reason is because the mall just renovated and extended the mall to an outside area, where most shoppers mind's are towards the movie theaters, Wetzel's or XXI Forever. Not to mention the store is next to the sliding door entrance. Anyway, as I was on my way to XXI Forever with my mom one afternoon, we both noticed this classic flannel shirt on a mannequin inside of Levi's and had to go in and try it on. I tried it on. Never have I tried a more perfect flannel. Downside? $50. Upside? Perfect flannel, happy daughter. It's a win-win situation.

ONCE YOU GO BLACK...

J Brand 12" Pencil Twill Jeans in Black Wash

Warning: Expensive jeans looking right back at you. J Brand Twill Jeans in Black Wash. $160. Insanity? Maybe. But look at all the other things these jeans are capable of!
a) If it's tight, it's time to hit the gym.
b) If it's tight, it's as black as can be, so you can wear them on "fat days."
c) If it's too expensive, here's something to strive for.
d) God has a pair. Just kidding.
e) Just buy one already.
f) Is for Friends. And jeans that last you forever.

But if you'd rather not or really can't,
I found your substitute:

Forever 21. $18.

Your call.

BLOODY SWELL

I like oxford shoes like the next person. But combine that with my two favorite things, the color black and heels, you've got yourself a winner. I give you - Seychelles London Oxford. Sold by Urban Outfitters.

I'm not a big fan of Urban Outfitters, gasp, but the one thing that stops me from walking past their store every time is their gifts and accessories. I cannot get enough of their quirky collections. These oxford heels would complete the flannel shirt and black skinny jeans. What average sized girl would not like to tower over people or feel adult-like and sophisticated. Okay, well I would. Check mate.

P.S.

The music video looks even more fantastic with a pair of these old 3-D Glasses, I might add.

Well that's all, folks!
I hope you enjoyed this!

"Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months." - Oscar Wilde

The Music Video for Boys and Girls by Pixie Lott.

MAKE-UP YOUR MIND

I've never tried any of the CoverGirl products until now. But my goodness, are those people at CoverGirl working their butts off! Their new line of products, as you might be seeing everywhere lately, are just as great as they are saying. The CoverGirl Smoky Shadow Blast product in particular has caught my eye (no pun intended). It really means what it says. It's fast, affordable and effective. I got myself the simple white/black combo at Target for $8 and it's lived up to its promises. The rounded bottom, as you see in the picture above, is the base for the lids. The tip on the top lends itself to the smoky effect. It holds well and smooths over creases. The thing that impressed me the most was the texture: not only is it just the right amount of glitter and thickness, but it also can come off with the ease of a tissue wipe. Of course that doesn't mean that everyone should stop using make-up remover, but it's comforting to know that even if you mess up, you can get it off easily. Another appeal is the make-up artist's touch. CoverGirl's products were made for make-up artists by make-up artists. They actually use CoverGirl products on the runway. High-fashion musicians such as Rihanna get glamed up with the help of CoverGirl's famous Lash Blast. So if you're not in the mood to pull out pennies at the nearest Department Store, try a Target or CVS and stash some cash for later. Make-ups only worth as much as you can sell it, after all.

JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED

Originally made for laborers in Germany in the 1940s, the classic Doc Marten's boot became an essential staple for all walks of life during the '60s and '70s, hitting the "mods" to the "punks," the "grunge" to the "Goth" and many others alike, as said in History of Dr. Martins on drmartins.com.

It's obvious that Doc Marten's will never go away. The practical yet stylish boot can change an outfit completely. Say a girly dress is paired with black Docs, all of a sudden it's a statement. Now, in addition to the original black and brown boot, you can further the statement with flowery prints, metallic colors, stars, bright colors, and plaid. Pictures here: http://www.drmartens.com/ProductList.asp?Cat=Story&Story=1460Womens&Type=All

"But they're $180. I can't afford them." Thanks to Punkrose for Hot Topic, you can kind of get that edge with comfort. Punkrose Athletic boots are basically the baby of combat boots and Converse. At first look, it's a boot. If you look closer, the soles are all sneaker. Nonetheless, it's $60 price tag is a steal. There's one in black: http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/DarkStreet/Shoes/Boots/Punkrose-Black-Athletic-Boot-235092.jsp and one in a dark pink: http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/Shoes/Boots/Punkrose-Dark-Pink-Athletic-Boot-270228.jsp.

There are always thrift stores and vintage stores with old Docs or old black boots. Urban Outfitters sells their Doc Marten's for $120. Online stores like Amazon sell them for less as well (ranging from $50-$100). And there's no doubt that window-shopping through stores with the likes of Aldo will get you a copycat of some sort.

And for the ones who want the bang for the buck: Jimmy Choo's has their own motorcycle black boots.

I own these Tori Burch leather black heeled boots. It makes me feel like a grown-up. Ha.

They also come in a simple boot form.

Whichever one you choose, from Docs, designer or deal, you're getting a piece of pop culture that is always cool.

And last of all...

I VANT IT THAT WAY

The new artist, Vita Chambers, came out with her new single "Young Money." In her new music video for "Young Money," she wears an adorable black and white striped t-shirt with vampire fangs on it.

Must. get. one. I can't find that t-shirt anywhere online but I'll get something similar if I stumble upon one.

Here is the music video for Young Money by Vita Chambers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txA3sSxULeI

Speaking of vampires... Can't wait for The Vampire Diaries to continue it's first season starting next Thursday!

I highly recommend watching it. It is far beyond Twilight. Everything is there - the dark humor, the drama, the action... It channels Interview with the Vampire and just enough Twilight-styled love triangle scenes to keep Twihards happy. And I personally want to violate Ian Somerhalder. Just sayin'. Haha.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this!
Bye!

"Every day is a fashion show and the world is your runway." - Anonymous

The Music Video for Hot Mess by Cobra Starship.

This was an advertisement when Zac Posen did a Target line for Australia last year.
Supposedly, he only did the gig for the free trip to Australia! Haha. Nonetheless, Australia got a designer line especially made for them!

Finally we get to feel the love.

Zac Posen for Target will be available in Target stores nationwide from April 25th through May 30th.

This limited edition line will start as low as $15. Squeal.

Here are some of his amazing designs:

The dresses will supposedly be around $80 each. If that is the case, I am saving up my pennies for that gorgeous red ruffle dress!

If you would like to see the whole collection, click here: http://www.collegefashion.net/fashion-news/zac-posen-for-target-lookbook/

His designs, as said by the man himself in the April Teen Vogue, are "flirtatious and fun" but with a "punk, tough quality too." It is apparent in his latest collection for Target.

Because the collection will be out in April, when Prom will be celebrated, his dresses will have Prom inspired pieces while maintaining high fashion. "Prom is one of the few opportunities in life when you can fulfill any romantic desires you have," Posen says in April's Teen Vogue, "and there's no prenup attached to it."

Although the romantic dresses in his collection are evidently Prom inspired, one outfit in particular might not have caught the eye of some as Prom inspired. "It takes a kick-ass girl who can wear a tuxedo to prom!" says Posen about his Prom inspired tuxedo for women.

Posen wanted to "address things that are actually happening" with his tuxedo design. "Lesbian proms have been such a big thing in the news lately," he says. "Not that you need to be gay to wear a tux; it just takes confidence," the designer explains.

(Thank you to April's Teen Vogue article with excellent quotes from Posen! The article is called "Zac Attack" , from pages 85-86, and is written by Jane Keltner. This is merely for entertainment purposes only.)

Now... You might be wondering why more and more designers are jumping on the Target band wagon. There are many reasons - for the money (we are in a recession, after all), to become household names (the attention designers get when collaborated in Target is huge!) and to challenge themselves to appeal to the masses (think about it: afforable fashion from high-end designers? designs available for all types of people? that's definitely a challenge!). Whatever reason Posen is using, he definitely hits the Target. (Too soon for puns?)

In other news...

UPDATE FROM 4/1/10: THESE BABIES ARE SOLD OUT!

What else needs to be said? Oh, wait, let me give it a try... I want one!
Yup.
I love Urban Decay. Available in Sephoras now.
Although, if you haven't noticed, Tarina Tarantino, a famous jewelry and accessories designer with bright pink hair, has recently launched her own make-up line. It has unfortunately "replaced" the Urban Decay in the mall nearest to my house, so you might want to check bigger malls with more selection. I'm sure they still have Urban Decay there. Either way, I have a $50 Sephora card I have been waiting to use since I got it for Christmas. This just might be the one set I'll buy! We'll see!

And lastly...

FAIR TRADE EVERYTHING.

Do you know what that means?
The producers of the product, be it chocolate, coffee, clothes, gets paid fairly for their labor. Some people in developing countries get paid as little as two cents a day. A day! By buying something with symbols like this:

You ensure that all of the workers are paid justly.

More information:

Very cool.

Well that's it!

I hope you enjoyed it!
